Beginning with Summer Reading assessment, Accelerated Reader and STAR Reading computerized programs are required reading practice programs for every student at Archbishop Lyke Middle School. Working together, STAR and Accelerated Reader enable your child to practice and apply reading skills that are taught in the classroom. STAR and Accelerated Reader paves the road to academic success.
To assure your student’s success, be sure that he or she reads a minimum of 30 minutes at home each evening. Ask to see the reading log, and gladly initial it when the reading session is over. When the student reads the entire book, we suggest that he or she take the quiz at the very first opportunity – preferably the very next day.
